Gabe the yellow Labrador participated in 170 combat patrols in Iraq, earning him the 2008 AKC Heroic Dog of the Year for the Armed Forces. He's now retired but he's a nominee for the 2012 American Humane Association’s Hero Dog Awards, which recognizes the powerful relationship between dogs and people. Last week, we posted about the amazing Pudsey the dog, whose act with his trainer, Ashleigh turned Simon Cowell to mush on "Britain's Got Talent." On Saturday night, the pair won the entire competition—and a cool $800,000—with a Mission Impossible-themed act that really played to the judges. The audience clearly loved it, as well, and 39% of the public voted for Pudsey to win.
